"The following broadcast may be disturbing to some listeners: A harrowing news story that has shocked the nation has regrettably intensified further as another suicide has occurred in the county of Kent, bringing the total to an upsetting 8 in the last 6 weeks. The most recent suicide victim is a 14 year old girl who has not been identified as of yet, more details on the tragedy will be released soon… Past suicide victims Sarah Jones, Rachel King, Emily Johnson, Katie Smith, Jessica McArthur, Jasmine Taylor, and Angelina Jackson. The first suicide of the tragic pattern was Angelina Jackson the waitress, who was found in a forest just off the M25 with nothing but a note declaring her depression. However after an intense look into Ms Jackson’s medical records there was no evidence of this, the 18 year old had just been accepted to Guildford school of acting and appeared to have a successful career in Music Theatre... As the list of fatalities is increasing so rapidly, police are now looking into other causes. The intense amount of self-infliction that the suicide victims have given themselves has led police to believe that there could be an entirely different cause... One theory is that the police have developed is the concept of a serial killer/ a mass murderer however at this stage is just a theory and further information on this will be announced with further notice."
At the elipsis we will have a fuzz in and a fuzz out out as if the radio broadcast is being shortened and we as the audience will only hear the most important information. Creating tension and giving information that would create a story.
Also we are yet to find our broadcaster, however we want a female woman as the news reporter and a male as the host. The male won't be in it for long he will only say "The following broadcast may be disturbing to some listeners.."
Well done, good script.

ReplyDelete"The following broadcast may be disturbing to some listeners: Another suicide has taken place in the county of Kent, bringing the total to 8 in the last 6 weeks. The most recent victim is a 14 year old girl who was found hanging from a tree in a forest 5 miles from the M25. Currently she has not been identified. Kent police will be releasing more details in a press conference to be held this afternoon.
These suicides form a disturbing pattern which started on the 16 July with the suicide of Angelina Jackson, a waitress from Sevenoaks, who was found in the same forest just off the M25 within a matter of metres of the most recent victim. She had written a note outlining depression linked to splitting up with her longstanding boyfriend and falling out with her parents. Since then other victims Sarah Jones, Rachel King, Emily Johnson, Katie Smith, Jessica McArthur and Jasmine Taylor have been found in similar circumstances. Police are looking into possible links between the apparent suicides but have currently not got any leads apart from the fact that they are all female. Police have found no evidence in Ms Jackson’s medical records of depression, and according to friends and family she was a happy, lively girl who had just been accepted to Guildford school of acting and appeared to have a successful career in Music Theatre ahead of her...
As the list of fatalities increases, police are now looking into other causes. All the suicide victims appear to have inflicted extreme injuries on themselves before using a rope to hang themselves. These unusual circumstances have led police to believe that there could be an entirely different cause...
One theory that the police are working on is that these suicides could be the work of a serial killer, however at this stage they have little evidence for this. Further information on more recent developments will be released by police this afternoon."
